2023 - Inkognito C20F

The 100 station big subway system in Stockholm Sweden is said to be the worlds longest art exhibition. Almost all stations feature public artworks.

All Stockholm subway cars are given names, mostly after famous people. In the fleet of subway cars there is a unique one, formerly known by the name Inkognito, model number C20F. This car have a several unique features; lighter, wider inside, air-con. If you listen to the electromagnetic signature of Inkognito it also sounds different compared to the other cars. This uniqueness has for me grown into an idea that Inkognito is a kind of an unintentional moving artwork. And therefor I’ve composed a special piece in it’s honor.

The material for this piece is comprised of electromagnetic soundscape recordings from inside the C20F subway car. The material is then processed, composed and spatialized with granular synthesis, delays, filters, pitch shifting using cybernetic composition techniques.
